Structurally, the Audio Research I/50 is a classic push-pull amplifier with 6550 tubes installed at the output – one pair per channel. The functions of the input and driver tubes are taken over by three 6922 dual triodes. Usually all the tubes are made by the Slovakian company JJ Electronic and have undergone careful selection before assembly. With 50 watts continuous from 20Hz to 20kHz and 1kHz total harmonic distortion typically 1% per channel, below 0.1% at 1 watt I/50 delivers natural sound.
