The manufacturer states that this model was developed as a linear preamplifier that combines the rich and mature sound of the G-70 with the power of the flagship G-1000. The Kondo Audio Note Japan G-700i is neither a simplified version of the G-1000, nor an improved version of the G-70, but uses a new circuit design. The newly developed 50-step volume control unit uses MELF resistors that were selected during numerous listening sessions. By mounting them on a high-quality rotary switch and placing them in a copper screen, it was possible to achieve exceptional protection against interference and distortion.
