The Vandersteen VLR model is characterized by a comfortable and tireless sound with fairly large images. The sound easily goes beyond the speakers, they seem to dissolve into space. The feed is convex and open. The overall sound is natural and homely. The tone is slightly warm, the timbres are somewhat simplified. Jazz is going very well, popular music is excellent, classical music is not bad, but simplified.

The coaxial assembly includes a 165mm woofer with a molded basket and a 25mm tweeter with a special alloy dome and critical damping. The crossover is based on 1st order filters with compensation of frequency and phase distortions.
