Lyra uses the latest generation of Rockport midrange drivers equipped with state-of-the-art carbon fiber sandwich cones with a variable slice thickness composite. The drivers are installed on proprietary extremely powerful motor units with ultra-low distortion, with a useful bandwidth of almost 6 octaves, and their distortion values are lower than those of some amplifiers (-60 dB).
Crucial to ORION's success are three newly developed drives; a new custom-made 13-inch woofer with a multi-layered carbon fiber body capable of delivering a confident first-octave response with amazing power reserve and grip, and a brand new 7-inch multi-layer composite carbon fiber midrange driver with rich tonal colors and unparalleled transparency., as well as a 1.25-inch beryllium tweeter mounted in the waveguide with almost perfect piston characteristics.
The drivers used here are the same as in a larger speaker system called Lyra — a low-frequency 10-inch driver with a multilayer carbon diffuser and a 6-inch midrange with a similar membrane. All this is complemented by an inch-long beryllium tweeter.
The Avior II uses a powerful combination of a new beryllium tweeter on a waveguide, a 6-inch midrange and two 9-inch composite woofers. This, combined with a completely redesigned crossover, has created a completely new speaker.
