Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold SP – acoustics with a vintage design

17.11.2024 10:30

The Scottish company Fyne Audio has introduced a line of acoustic systems, the design of which is inspired by the golden era of Hi-Fi, but developed taking into account modern requirements and technologies – Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold SP. The new series includes four models: Classic Gold VIII SP, Classic Gold X SP, Classic Gold XII SP and Classic Gold XV SP.

The acoustic systems of the Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold SP series are manufactured in Scotland, at the Fyne Audio plant in Glasgow. The cases are made of high-density birch plywood, which provides the necessary rigidity of the structure and creates conditions for the full disclosure of the potential of the speakers. Finishing with natural walnut veneer creates a special vintage style of acoustics.

The Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold SP uses proprietary coaxial drivers Fyne Audio IsoFlare, which are now equipped with a tweeter with a neodymium magnet system. In addition, the new products are equipped with the BassTrax Tractrix system, which is designed to ensure full bass radiation and create a solid low-frequency foundation. Much attention during development was paid to the crossover, which was tuned to achieve exceptional accuracy and clarity of sound. The crossover circuit uses only high-quality audiophile components, including polypropylene capacitors, coils with a low-loss laminated iron core and precision resistors.

Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold VIII SP is a two-way speaker system with a bass reflex, which has quite impressive dimensions of 873 x 380 x 300 mm, despite the fact that this is the junior model of the line. The speaker is equipped with a coaxial IsoFlare emitter with a 200 mm paper-fiber LF/MF diffuser and a 25 mm compression tweeter with a magnesium dome and a ferrite magnetic system. The operating range of the model extends from 30 Hz to 34 kHz with a crossover point of 1.8 kHz. The nominal impedance of the speaker system is 8 ohms with a sensitivity of 91 dB. The recommended amplifier power is from 30 to 200 watts.

The next model in the line is the Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold X SP. The operating range is from 28 Hz to 26 kHz with a crossover point of 750 Hz. The impedance is 8 ohms, the sensitivity is 94 dB, the recommended amplifier power is from 20 to 280 watts. The speaker dimensions are 992 x 450 x 300 mm.

The third model – Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold XII SP is equipped with a compression tweeter with a titanium dome with a diameter of 75 mm and a neodymium magnet system. The operating range of the speaker system is from 25 Hz to 26 kHz, although the crossover here is also set very low - at 750 Hz. Designed for amplifiers with a power of 20 to 350 W, Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold XII SP has an impedance of 8 ohms and high sensitivity, which is 96 dB. Finally, the top model of the line – Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold XV SP is equipped with a coaxial IsoFlare emitter with a paper-fiber diffuser with a diameter of 380 mm and a 75-mm compression tweeter with a titanium dome and a neodymium magnet system. The operating range is from 23 Hz to 26 kHz. The crossover frequency is the same - 750 Hz, as is the nominal impedance - 8 ohms. But the sensitivity of the flagship is much higher - 97 dB. The manufacturer recommends amplifiers with a power of 20 to 400 watts for it.

The acoustic systems of the new Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold SP series are already on sale. The recommended retail price of the Fyne Audio Classic Gold VIII SP is 8,999 euros, and the Fyne Audio Classic Gold X SP is 11,999 euros. The Fyne Audio Classic Gold XII SP will cost 14,999 euros, and for the flagship Fyne Audio Vintage Classic Gold XV SP you will have to pay 17,999 euros.
