Musician GEMINI – a Stereophonic Fully Balanced Power Amplifier

Audio equipment manufacturer Musician has introduced the Musician GEMINI stereophonic power amplifier, operating in Class A/B. The new model is built around a fully balanced concept and is implemented using discrete components. According to the manufacturer, the amplifier was designed with clarity of sound, control, and stability under load as key priorities – “this is not just another power amplifier, but a purpose-built partner for modern High End systems in which signal integrity is no less important than power itself.”

The Musician GEMINI stereophonic power amplifier is based on a balanced topology in which the positive and negative phases of the audio signal are processed independently. The result is a cleaner and more stable output signal with reduced noise and distortion, exactly what is required when working with sensitive loudspeakers and high-resolution sources.

The power supply section of the Musician GEMINI amplifier uses a shielded 600 VA toroidal transformer, supplemented by 36 storage capacitors and fast Schottky diodes. Each channel of the amplifier is equipped with four pairs of high-current output transistors, allowing the amplifier to operate confidently with both 8-ohm and 4-ohm loads. Regardless of whether it is connected to sensitive floorstanding speakers or more demanding loudspeakers, the Musician GEMINI maintains control without any signs of strain.

The amplifier is designed as a fully balanced system from input to output, which is why XLR connectors are used as the standard inputs. This approach reduces the impact of interference and helps preserve signal purity throughout the entire chain. At the output, large screw-type speaker terminals are installed, ensuring a reliable connection and underscoring the amplifier’s focus on reliability and long-term stable operation in stationary systems.

Visually, the Musician GEMINI is styled in a functional industrial aesthetic. The sturdy aluminum chassis is complemented by large integrated cooling heatsinks that ensure efficient heat dissipation during long listening sessions. The Musician GEMINI amplifier delivers 120 watts per channel into a nominal 8-ohm load and 220 watts into 4 ohms. At the same time, the new model is said to feature an extremely low level of distortion, a wide frequency response, and impressive channel separation.
