French company TOTALDAC has released the d1-CD CD transport, the “ultimate solution” for High End disc-based systems. The TOTALDAC d1-CD transport is based on the top-loading CD-PRO8 drive, and also features separate clock generators for the drive and audio outputs, as well as an intelligent ground distribution system.
The TOTALDAC d1-CD transport clock generator has a standard deviation of only 40 femtoseconds. The external power supply has much better galvanic isolation than conventional mains power supplies, which helps minimize electromagnetic interference on the transport circuits.
The TOTALDAC d1-CD transport is based on a monolithic copper plate (the same type used in TOTALDAC digital-to-analog converters), which is separated from the optical disc drive by four conical springs and four silicone dampers. The platform itself is isolated from the mounting surface by three anti-vibration supports with built-in ball bearings. The new product is already on sale in Europe at a recommended retail price of 7,500 euros.

The Ranieri Audio Labs Varieta preamplifier has been released – the model uses directly heated triodes and allows for a wide range of tubes (300B, 2A3/6A3, 12A/201A, 26, 30, 31, 45, 50, 71A, 801A/10Y, 275A/252A, 245 and 842/VT52 will do). Simply ideal for those wishing to experiment with tube rolling.
Accuphase has introduced the Accuphase C-57 phono preamplifier, based on a fully balanced circuit design from output to input with dual mono topology. The Accuphase C-57 also uses a two-stage solution: the first stage is the output stage to ensure matching with MM and MC cartridges, the second stage is the correction amplifier itself.
Last year, Goldmund launched the impressive Goldmund Rhea and Theia acoustics in active versions with a wireless streamer. The all-in-one solution certainly looked brilliant, but High-End fans often prefer component systems. So now the company has introduced the Goldmund Rhea and Theia loudspeakers in a Passive version.
Stratton Acoustics has introduced two models of compact bookshelf loudspeakers – Element 6 and Element 8. Both speakers use the company’s patented soft dome tweeters with a diameter of 29 mm, equipped with a waveguide to provide wide sound dispersion. The models are hand-assembled at the company’s own factory in England.
The SMSL company presented the SMSL VMV A1 Pro power amplifier - using lnfineon's latest GaN FET transistors, with a switching frequency of up to 1 MHz. Such unique circuitry guarantees, according to the company, absolutely natural sound and up to 400 W of output power.
