Wilson Benesch TESSELLATE Ti – world’s first MC cartridge with diamond-carbon cantilever

23.10.2022 12:20 | ~1 minute read

Wilson Benesch company considers that the cantilever to be the most critical part of a vinyl cartridge - that's why the company's new model, the TESSELLATE Ti, sports an innovative «needle holder» system. The cantilever in this model is made of state-of-the-art materials and is designed using a hybrid diamond and carbon scheme.

Wilson Benesch TESSELLATE Ti – world’s first MC cartridge with diamond-carbon cantilever

The Wilson Benesch TESSELLATE Ti cartridge is the first in the world to use a diamond cantilever with a uni-directional (UD) carbon fibre sleeve. This design virtually does not add mass, but dramatically increases damping - as a result, tracking ability improves and resonance decreases. And of course, the sound quality is improving too.

The Wilson Benesch TESSELLATE Ti body is made of titanium using selective laser sintering (SLS) manufacturing technology and uses a semi-open architecture. The manufacturer claims that the cartridge is ideal for use with the proprietary tonearm (GRAVITON Ti).
