Matrix Audio releases new integrated amplifiers with a digital-to-analog converter and full streaming functionality - Matrix Audio MD-1 and MD-1P. The first model, offering 2 x 150 W of output power, is suitable for the "entry" level, the senior device will provide a power of 2 x 300 W.

Digital-to-analog conversion is implemented here on the Asahi Kasei AK4493SEQ chip. In combination with the proprietary Femto Second Clock system from Matrix Audio and proprietary jitter suppression algorithms, this lays the foundation for obtaining a high-quality analog signal without distortion. The analog volume control has 256 steps from -80 to +12 dB. After adjusting the volume, the music signal is sent to power amplifiers implemented on nCore class D modules.

The Matrix Audio MD-1 and MD-1P amplifiers also have a built-in phono preamplifier for connecting a vinyl record player. In terms of switching, a full arsenal is offered - an HDMI eARC port, a USB audio input, XLR and RCA line inputs, a Phono input for an MM cartridge, HD Bluetooth, a slot for NVMe SSD drives, a direct CD copy function using an optional USB optical disc drive, preamplifier outputs and an output for connecting an active subwoofer.

The Matrix Audio MD-1 network integrated amplifier is available only in silver and provides an impressive power of 150 W per channel when operating on a load with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms. The recommended price of the model in Europe is 4,749 euros. The more powerful Matrix Audio MD-1P is available in matt black only, delivers 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms and has a suggested retail price of €5,599.
